Activity: Take slow breaths to feel more grounded

This activity helps soothe stressful situations. Try to encourage your child to make it a daily practice, so that it becomes second nature.

    • Breathe in for four or five seconds. Hold it for a moment. Then breathe out for four or five seconds.
    • Focus the attention on the sensation of slowing down. Feel the body and mind slowing down with each slow breath.

    Get your child to repeat this for 30-60 seconds several times a day.
