The Parent Talk 1:1 live chat is closed from the 23rd December-4th January.

We are open again from 12:30 on Monday 4th January.

Below are organisations who may be able to help you if you need urgent help or you can leave us a message and we will get back to you with advice and support when we reopen in January.

Organisations who can help

In an emergency or if you need health advice:

  • Call 999 for an emergency for the Police, Ambulance, Fire or HM Coastguard.
  • Call 111 or online at www.111.nhs.uk if you’re worried about a health issue. In an emergency, call 999.

These organisations are open over Christmas and may be able to help you:

  • The NSPCC Child Protection Helpline on 0808 800 5000 offers advice and support if you’re concerned about the welfare of a child.
  • Childline on 0800 1111 if you are under 19. Or online at www.childline.org.uk
  • The Give us a Shout text service, available 24/7 and free on all major mobile networks. Text Shout to 85258 if you’re struggling to cope and need mental health support.
  • Samaritans on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org
  • Call The Mix (for 10 to 25’s) on 0808 808 4994. Or you can email them, live 1:1 chat between 3pm-12am or text THEMIX on 85258.
  • CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) for men on 0800 585858 and has live chat 5pm to midnight.
  • Papyrus (for those under 35) on 0800 0684141 or text 07860 039967 or email pat@papyrus-uk.org
  • National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 24 hours a day or chat online 3pm to 10pm Monday to Friday
  • The Trussell Trust for emergency help with food. Search for your local foodbank online.
  • Streetlink for street homelessness on 0300 500 0914
  • Shelter for urgent housing advice on 0800 800 4444 24 hours a day or chat online.
  • Local Councils have an emergency out of hours telephone support for a wide range of issues. Find your local council.
